Single-origin sourcing

The core of the business. We contract at the yard in the region the spice is named after, and the lot keeps its village, grower group and harvest date all the way to discharge.

Grading to specification

Send us the spec sheet. We grade against it physically — ASTA, sieve size, purity, moisture, foreign matter — and reject at source rather than reconditioning to fit.

Programme

A repeating
order, done right.

Most of what we ship is not a one-off container. It is the same grade, to the same specification, on a cycle — which is a different problem from finding a good lot once. This is how a standing programme runs.

    Specification agreed

    Grade, residue limits, packing, labelling and destination fixed in writing before anything is quoted.

  2. 02

    Area booked

    For committed volumes we book area with grower groups ahead of sowing, so the crop exists before the order does.

  3. 03

    Priced at the yard

    When the harvest lands, the lot is priced against the day's yard rate — not against a forward guess.

  4. 04

    Processed to grade

    Cleaned, sorted, sterilised and packed to the agreed specification, with a retained reference sample.

  5. 05

    Tested and released

    Third-party analysis against the destination's own limits. A lot that fails does not ship.

  6. 06

    Shipped and documented

    Sealed, photographed, documented and tracked to discharge. The report pack travels with it.

Limits

And four
we won’t.

A service list that only says yes is not a service list. These are the things we decline, consistently, and the reasons are the same every time.

  • Substitute a region when the named one has a bad season. If Byadgi does not make colour this year, we tell you — we do not quietly ship something else against the same contract.
  • Recondition a rejected lot to make a grade it never had. Rejection happens at the yard, not in a warehouse with a sieve.
  • Treat with ethylene oxide or irradiation. Steam sterilisation only, because that is what most of our destinations accept.
  • Quote a specification we cannot meet honestly. If the number you need does not exist in that crop, the answer is no rather than a hopeful yes.

What is your minimum order quantity?
One tonne for seed spices and chilli. Cardamom, nutmeg and saffron move in smaller lots — from 50 kg for cardamom and 1 kg for saffron. Mixed containers are possible where the grades share a sterilisation requirement.
Can you ship against our own specification?
Yes. Send the specification sheet and destination, and we will confirm against the grade, the residue limits and the harvest window before quoting. If a specification cannot be met honestly from a given region, we will say so rather than substitute.
How is quality verified before shipment?
Third-party laboratory analysis on every lot — pesticide residue against the destination's MRLs, aflatoxin, microbiological load, and the assay that defines the grade. The full report pack travels with the shipment.
Do you supply private label and retail packs?
Yes, for consistent programmes. Bulk moves in 25 kg and 50 kg laminated or jute bags; retail packing is available from 50 g upward with your artwork.
Which incoterms do you work on?
FOB, CFR and CIF from Indian ports. Nhava Sheva, Chennai, Krishnapatnam and Cochin depending on origin.
How do you handle the harvest calendar?
Each spice has a fixed window — the calendar on each spice page is the real one. Contracts placed against a coming harvest are priced at the yard once the crop lands, not before.
